Star Wars Rebels Premier: Quick Review

When Star Wars: The Clone Wars was canceled I was bummed. Good story, good action, and things only seemed to be building up to more awesomeness. Then Disney punched me in the dick and canceled it. Then they announce they were making their own Star Wars cartoon. They canceled my Star Wars so they could make their own? Salt in the wound. 5 stages of grief incoming.

Then we get some details. Rebels? Gonna miss those lightsabers. Main character a kid? Eh, I’m slightly worried things might be to “Disney kiddy” now. Images of main character? Nooooo. Then being the fanboy I am, I watch the show.

It was good. It was actually pretty dang good. Would I have preferred the Clone Wars still be on? Yes, but this is still nice. The premier episode had action, lightsabers, the voice acting is good, the musical score is very nice (original trilogy John Williams feel), and the story seems like things are going to go in interesting places. All in all, just based on the premier episode, I’m excited about Rebels and looking forward to future episodes.  Hopefully The Force remains strong with this one.
