Duke Nukem Forever Review

“YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! OH, DAMN YOU! GODDAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!”

That’s the feeling i’ve been getting from most of the reviews I have read about Gearbox’s Duke Nukem Forever. Now, by no means is the game perfect, visually or gameplay wise, but most people have been overlooking the main point. Its a real Duke Nukem game and its fun. This is what Duke Nukem is all about.   Back in the day, good ol 1996, in the midst of all the “serious” shooters came Duke Nukem 3D. It was a pure unadulterated, action packed, tongue in cheek fps. Good stuff, good stuff. People loved it (except for feminist groups, churches, politicians, responsible parents, etc…) and the Duke Nukem character we all know and love today was born (yes, he was in other 2d games before, but not in his current sexist, macho, foul-mouthed incarnation).   That same warm fuzzy feeling I got playing Duke Nukem 3D is the same feeling I get when playing Duke Nukem Forever. It’s inappropriate, its witty (kinda), and most importantly, it’s fun. However, the fun is hindered at times due to some issues.   So enjoy the review and be glad it didn’t take me 12 years to make it.
